Don’t get me wrong, I think Kaka is a Good player, but in this 2010 World Cup, that great player didn’t show up. Whether it was because of a previous thigh injury with his Pro team Real Madrid, where he makes 65 Million EUROS, that may have hampered him, or maybe it was the physical play of teams such as Ivory Coast and Holland who played him very tough, Kaka admits that he was not able to find his top form.
I think of Kaka as a Scotty Pippin to a Michael Jordan. Pippin was Great with Jordan, but take away Jordan, and Pippin is Good but not Great. When you have Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Robinho or Adriano on the team, Kaka is able to play off the ball, get open passes and score, but take away the other great players and Kaka is now the center of attention and it’s different story, kind of like Scotty Pippin without Michael Jordan.
The physical play seemed to take Kaka off his game, first against the Ivory Coast, who fouled him almost every play, and then he gets ejected on a great acting job by an Ivory Coast player, and then by the tough play by Holland, I don’t think Kaka is used to being roughed up so much and it got to his head.
Kaka, fought, battled, and tried hard along with the rest of the Brazilan team, but unfortunately for him and Brazil he couldn’t come through.
“There are many people who are sad in Brazil, but nobody is sadder than we are,” said Kaka after Brazil’s 1-2 loss against Holland.
