The creator of the reality show "Viva! The Chosen" is coming to Brazil

this September to search for talent for the program.

Porspective talent will be evaluated by Lopez, (ex-husband) partner Marc Anthony

along with Jamie King to see if they have what it takes to participate.

The director of the program has been quoted "Anything that involves music, dance,

we are considering, no artist is being put off by the style of talent they have.

Standouts in different categories will be selected to go to the U.S. and participate

in a Latin American show that will tour the world.

Ronaldo Retires from Soccer

Brazil will bid farewell to Ronaldo as he plays his last game for Brazil’s National Team against Romania and his last professional game ever.

Ronald who is clearly overweight and out of shape, trained with the team and scored to goals in training but felt some pain and had to take anti-inflammatory to afterwards. He is marked to enter the game the last 15 minutes of the 1st half.ikely see only a few minutes of playing time, but enough to receive the honor and appreciation of Brazil.

This is not a throw away game though, the other players are still competing for a spot on Brazil’s National Team for the soon to begin Copa America tournament.

Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima was one of the most prolific scorers in soccer. He is one of only two men to have won the FIFA Player of the Year three times, along with his friend, French footballer Zidane.

Ronaldo was named as one the best starting players of all-time by France Football and was named the the FIFA 100 greatest players along with countryman Pele.
In 2010 Ronaldo was named by Goal.com as “Player of the Decade.”

Ronaldo played in 97 games for Brazil’s National Team with 62 goals. He was on the winning World Cup teams of 1992 and 2002.

Abdias do Nascimento

Abdias Nascimento, Brazilian Civil Rights Leader, Actor, Painter, and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee passed away last night. He was 98 years old. An Activist since the 1930s, Abdias founded the Experimental Theater of the Negro (TEN) in 1944 and created the Institute for Research and Studies Afro Brazilian (Ipeafro) in 1981 to continue his fight for the rights of black people, especially in the areas of education and the cultura.Abdias was also a congressman, senator and secretary of Defense and Promotion of Afro-Brazilian Populations of the State of Rio de Janeiro, 1991-1994.

He performed in Orfeu da Conceiçao, a play by Vinicius de Moraes which was later adapted into the motion picture Black Orpheus. He became a leader in Brazil’s black movement, and was forced into exile by the military regime in 1968 when he moved to Buffalo, New York U.S.A.  Nascimento held positions as a Visiting Professor at several universities in the United States including the Yale School of Drama (1969–1971), and University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, where he founded the chair in African Cultures in the New World, Puerto Rican Studies Program in 1971.

Nascimento returned to Brazil in 1983 was elected to the federal Chamber of Deputies. There his focus was supporting legislation to address racial problems. In 1994 he was elected to the Senete and served until 1999. In 2004 he was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Peace.

The 4th annual Rio Restaurant Week continues until May 29. With 58 restaurants participating with the objective for clients new and old to have the opportunity to discover the epicurean creations of some of the best restaurants in the city, with a promotional price.

All plates offered during the promotional week will cost between R$29.90 and R39.90 reais, including appetizer, main dish and dessert. Each participating restaurant will offer two options for diners to choose from. Drinks, hors d’oeuvres and service are not included in the promotional price.
