Back 2 Black Festival Rio de Janeiro


The Back2Black Festival in Rio de Janeiro takes place over 3 days, August 27, 28 & 29, 2010 featuring, music, art, discussion, debate, expositions, culture and shows that showcase all the influences of African culture in all forms and interpretations that exist in pop culture in Brazil and the world.

With a presence of Filmmakers, writers, musicians, politicians, actors, journalists and opinion makers of all the different tribes, the Back2Black Festival brings together distant generations of the African diaspora with common ideas.

The Back2Black Festival is a celebration of rhythm, sound, social and economic conscience, the colors and style of the contemporary world.

Artists scheduled to perform include, Erykah Badu, Carlinhos Brown, Taj Mahal, Dave Stewart, Judith Hill (former Michael Jackson backup singer extraodinaire)
