Rio Flooding, death toll rises to 77 dead

Flooding from heavy rain storms have claimed more than 70 lives in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state, leaving streets submerged and prompting warnings to stay home after officials raise an alarm over deadly mudslides. Banks, schools, business all shut down on warnings from government officials for everyone to stay home. Streets in high rent areas like Ipanema are practically empty except for a few tourists who are wondering what is going on. This is the second time flooding has affected the coastal areas. About 1 month ago heavy rain flooded Rio, but not to this extent. More rain is forecast for the week and the warning stand right now.
