Tonight Brazil honors one of it’s greatest football players Ronaldo #9. You can bet that most TV’s in Brazil homes and bars will be on the game.
Brazil will bid farewell to Ronaldo as he plays his last game for Brazil’s National Team against Romania and his last professional game ever.
Ronald who is clearly overweight and out of shape, trained with the team and scored to goals in training but felt some pain and had to take anti-inflammatory to afterwards. He is marked to enter the game the last 15 minutes of the 1st half.ikely see only a few minutes of playing time, but enough to receive the honor and appreciation of Brazil.
This is not a throw away game though, the other players are still competing for a spot on Brazil’s National Team for the soon to begin Copa America tournament.
Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima was one of the most prolific scorers in soccer. He is one of only two men to have won the FIFA Player of the Year three times, along with his friend, French footballer Zidane.
Ronaldo was named as one the best starting players of all-time by France Football and was named the the FIFA 100 greatest players along with countryman Pele.
In 2010 Ronaldo was named by Goal.com as “Player of the Decade.”
Ronaldo played in 97 games for Brazil’s National Team with 62 goals. He was on the winning World Cup teams of 1992 and 2002.
