Video – Flamengo beats Corinthians for Copa Libertadores

Adriano of Flamengo

Flamengo beats Corinthians 1-0 for the title Campeonato Libertadores on a penalty kick by Adriano. Ronaldo who plays for Corinthians was held ineffective in the rain drenched soccer match played at Maracana Stadium on Rio de Janeiro.

The rain didn’t keep Cariocas and Paulistas from traveling from all over Brazil to see the great rivalry. Crowd estimates were 90,000 people. Adriano and Vander Love with his trademark braids and red ribbons in his hair led Flamengo, while the famous Ronaldo led Corinthians of Sao Paulo in what was built up as a clash of the titans between Adriano and Ronaldo who also played  together on Brazil’s national World Cup team.

Although it rained heavily throughout the soccer match, it did not dampen the spirits of the crowd who sang, danced, shouted and cheered throughout the night.

WoW! I felt this! Thank you for posting. I love this website. Oh oh oh yeah I’m glad Michelle Martins is back. Man for an American city boi like myself she is the “business”.

    Cheers,

  2. Glad you liked it Mike!
It’s totally different from an American football game, even more energy than a College football game. When you come to Rio make sure to go to game.
Michelle is laughing right now :-) and says Obrigada – Thanks!
